What Nissan documented on August 24

Nissan's U.S. vehicle Q&A, dated August 24, 2026, documents the current all-new LEAF lineup. It lists EPA-estimated range of 303 miles for S+, 288 for SV+, and 259 for Platinum+. Nissan lists 75 kWh of usage/net battery capacity for each trim. The update is useful because it keeps the trim attached to the range instead of presenting 303 miles as a promise for every LEAF.

Nissan's official 2026 brochure specifies a 150-kW maximum DC rate and approximately 30 minutes from 20 to 80 percent. It also lists a 7.2-kW onboard AC charger and approximately 6.5 hours from 20 to 80 percent on 240-volt service; that is not a full-charge time. Actual times still depend on charger output, temperature, battery state, and vehicle settings.

Two charge ports, two jobs

The 2026 LEAF uses an integrated NACS port on the passenger side for DC fast charging, including compatible Tesla Superchargers, and a J1772 port on the driver's side for routine AC charging. Nissan says a 120/240-volt portable cord comes with the vehicle and offers a CCS adapter as an accessory. Buyers should confirm charger eligibility and adapter requirements for each network rather than equating plug shape with universal access.

This arrangement can reduce adapter use at NACS road-trip sites while retaining compatibility with many existing J1772 home units. It also means owners need to learn which side and connector serves each charging mode. Apartment and workplace users should check cable reach before assuming an existing space works conveniently.

How to use the update

The August page is a manufacturer reference, not an independent road test. EPA estimates support standardized comparison, while real range changes with speed, weather, elevation, accessories, load, battery condition, and climate control. The lower range of the more highly equipped trims shows why shoppers must calculate from the exact window sticker.

Before ordering, verify trim, destination charge, charging cord, any CCS adapter, home-circuit requirements, and the networks serving regular routes. Nissan also lists battery coverage at eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first; the warranty booklet controls its terms. The news here is the consolidated current specification set, not a claim that every charger will deliver 150 kW or every S+ will travel 303 miles in personal use.
