What to check before buying a charger

  • Match the AC connector to your exact vehicle. A DC adapter does not establish home-charger compatibility.
  • Confirm the vehicle’s AC limit and have an electrician check the circuit, available capacity and installation. A higher charger rating does not make every car charge faster.
  • For public fast charging, also check the network’s vehicle and adapter approvals. A matching plug alone is insufficient.
  • GM lists a native NACS (SAE J3400) charging port; the GM sources read on 2026-10-28 do not name the adapter supplied or approved for J1772 stations or CCS1 fast chargers.
  • GM states 65 kWh battery rated energy, not a usable capacity, so no usable-battery value is set.
  • GM rates AC charging at 11.5 kW and DC fast charging at 150 kW; both are manufacturer figures.
